Why Not Be a SCORE Mentor?

Are you, or have you been, a small business owner? Do you enjoy passing your experience to others?  Are you willing to commit 10-12 hours per month assisting other entrepreneurs start or expand their business dream?

If so, Raleigh SCORE would love to talk with you. You could join a team of over 50 existing mentors who counsel clients at seven different locations around the Triangle, one of which is probably close to you. We have locations in Downtown Raleigh, Morrisville, Cary, North Raleigh and we’ll soon begin counseling in Durham.

Raleigh SCORE is a non-profit resource partner of the Small Business Administration. We are one of almost 400 chapters nationwide. We offer free small business mentoring and low cost educational workshops. The Chapter is entirely staffed by unpaid retired and in-business volunteers.

Reaching a greater number of existing small businesses in the Triangle is one of our Chapter’s primary goals for 2012.  As a mentor, you’d be scheduled for an average of two client counseling sessions per month. They consist of three, one -hour meetings with three interesting clients. You’d be paired with another experienced mentor at each session. You are encouraged to individually work with the clients you feel could benefit from continued mentoring. In addition, we will ask that you to attend a monthly general chapter meeting, and if your schedule permits to participate on one of our many committees.

We hope you’ll consider joining the ranks of 13,000 other volunteers nationwide and become a SCORE mentor.

You can find more information about this rewarding volunteer opportunity be calling our main office in downtown Raleigh at 919-856-4739, or going to our website, http://raleigh.score.org.
